Octo was a priest and scholar of the New Religion. Passionate to destroy all influence of the false God known as “The Old One”, he started looking for the “Book of the Deep”, a legendary book known to contain a portion of the Old One’s soul and power. Ignorant of all danger the young priest found the library of forbidden knowledge hidden in a tower built underground. As he descended his nulled mind started to consider the artifacts hidden there, treasures of the days of old. He was losing his will to destroy the book that was calling him to the lowest floor of the tower. He remained there for years, wandering in its halls, speaking to himself in words that he wouldn’t understand in the past. When he left, he was stripped of all humanity, with the “Book of the Deep” in hand and a touch of madness affecting his every thought and action.
